Russia will study trophy samples of modern Western equipment, including by means of reverse engineering, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in the TV program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin,” on July 16. An excerpt from the program was posted by journalist Pavel Zarubin in his Telegram channel.
“There is such an expression as ‘reverse engineering’. We’ll see, because modern technology is modern after all,” Putin said.
The Russian leader added that if one can look inside the enemy’s equipment and find something useful there for application in our own samples, why not do it.”
On July 6, the head of the Military-technical center “Tsar’s Wolves” Dmitry Rogozin said that the Storm Shadow missile was captured by Russian units and sent to specialized experts for study.
On July 12, videos confirming the capture by Russian troops of an undamaged American BMP Bradley were circulated in the media.
