Kurginyan: The army can only fight if it has non-material assets

The army cannot fight solely with material assets, it needs non-material assets, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on June 9 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

He told how several times he was invited to places where people who believed they belonged to global power had their meetings. In a place like that, in which, besides, they have a very problematic attitude to Russia, a statement on the wall says, “The immaterial rules the world,” the political scientist indicated.

To put it in more market-related terms, there is human capital asset, there is a non-material asset, there is team spirit, a systemic group field or, as we used to say (and I like this version much better), communal spirit. A real communal spirit. However, they say that any communal spirit in the Russian patriotic movement is always a disintegration. We must avoid this! Kurginyan explained.

He reminded that President of Russia Vladimir Putin once spoke about “spiritual bonds.” Kurginyan expressed confidence that if Russia itself essentially believes in the non-material, which is as important as the material, and that it dominates over the material, if Russia mobilizes this ideal capital at the level of traditions as well as various innovations, then Russia will have no equals on the globe.

Then, the whole world is a supplement to Russia, but not Russia is its back side,” the political scientist noted.

However, Russia adopted the Western formulas that money is always a solution and that the right, pragmatic world is a world of the golden calf, he said.

I do not deny that money plays a really major role; however, when you have no non-material assets your material assets quickly go to those who have non-material assets, you see? And there is no army that could exist based solely on material assets; it cannot live without them and it cannot live solely by them, because it has to fight, to remain faithful to the spirit of service, and to die, Kurginyan stressed.

The political scientist is confident that all this is only possible when non-material assets are available, and that they play the key role. The only question is whether Russia is ready to follow them.
