Russia can successfully withstand the war against the West being waged on the territory of Ukraine, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on June 9 in the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
The political scientist noted that we have a chance to hold out in the war of attrition if we seriously enlarge our defense budget, improve our defense industry, and reform our army.
“What will be the product of the war of attrition, and where is our chance here? We have a seven-fold larger population, a seven-fold larger mobilization potential,” Sergey Kurginyan explained.
“If we timely, promptly, and seriously improve our defense industry and carry out an extremely careful reform of our army raising its numbers dramatically, and if we allocate other funds for this, then we will hold out technically and otherwise,” he added.
The analyst stressed that the recent versions of the MiG and Su fighters “are better that all those F-16 etc.”
“I do not want to underestimate our enemy, it is very strong, but we are no losers either; our situation is really poor, it is worse than it was before, but we are far from a disastrous situation that certain patriotic hysterical people sometimes scream about. This is not the case,” Sergey Kurginyan stressed.
At a meeting with the heads of the governments of the CIS and the EAEU countries on June 9, President of Russia Vladimir Putin noted that the Russian army is indeed still lacking modern weapons. At the same time, the president stressed that the Russian defense industry is quickly developing, and he promised that it will successfully reach all its targets.
