Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reminded Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky of the number of Jewish people exterminated by the Banderites in Ukraine on her Telegram channel on June 22.
“Jews in Nazi-occupied Ukraine, which this scum [Banderites] actively helped, were massively exterminated, burned and buried without graves or identifying marks. All in all – about 1.4 million people,” Zakharova said.
The diplomat recalled the peculiarities of the national policy of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (organization banned in Russia), which was headed by Stepan Bandera, and pointed out that the glorification of the Banderites is an absolute disgrace to the people of Ukraine and open glorification of Nazism.
On June 18, Brodsky said on the Israeli Iton TV channel that Israel is ready to tolerate the glorification of Nazis who murdered Jews in Ukraine and to continue supporting the Banderites as long as they are at war with Russia.
In particular, the diplomat stated that Bandera, Shukhevich and Melnik could be considered heroes even though they supported the ideology of Nazism and killed Jews.
The diplomat also stated that Ukraine can praise the Nazis as much as it wants, the maximum that Israel will do is limit itself to verbal condemnation and continue to support the Banderites.
