Dialogue between African leaders and Russian President Vladimir Putin may be continued, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on June 17.
The parties are ready to continue the dialogue. One of its components was the discussion of the peace initiative of African countries on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
Recall that in St. Petersburg at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum arrived President of South Africa, as well as leaders of Egypt, Senegal, Zambia, Comoros and also representatives of the President of the Republic of Congo and Uganda. Before arriving in St. Petersburg, the mission visited Kiev.
In March, Russia’s representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that a realistic position taken by Kiev would bring the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine closer.
A settlement can be brought closer only if Ukraine realizes the reality and stops offering “peace plans” implying that Russia should surrender, Nebenzya said.
