The Russian military successfully repelled an attack by a Ukrainian assault group in the Soledar-Artemovsk direction, Vadim Astafyev, head of the Yug army group’s press center, said at a press conference on June 12.
“Units of the Yug army group thwarted the enemy’s attempt to conduct reconnaissance in the Lisichansk direction, and also successfully repelled an attack by an assault group of the Ukrainian army in the Soledar-Artemovsk direction,” Astafyev said.
Astafyev said that Russian artillery destroyed positions of 120mm mortars near Belogorovka, Khromovo and Druzhba villages as a result of counter-battery attack.
He also said that the Ukrainian positions near the town of Belogorovka in the Severodonetsk district of the Lugansk region were destroyed by a Tulpan self-propelled mortar.
It is specified that the ammunition depot, as well as the defensive positions of the Ukrainian armed units and hideouts of the units of the 24th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army near the Druzhba village, were destroyed. In addition, an ammunition depot of the Ukrainian armed units near Krasnogorovka was also destroyed, Astafyev said.
Astafyev said that an infantry fighting vehicle and a pickup truck were destroyed near Krasnogorovka in addition to the ammunition depot.
The spokesman also reported that two Ukrainian drones had been hit by Osa-AKM surface-to-air missile systems. The drones flew in different directions. A reconnaissance drone Leleka-100 flew in the Avdeevka direction. On the Mariinka direction, a multifunctional military drone Furia was spotted. Both drones were shot down.
