Kurginyan: After Communism was destroyed, the destruction of Man began

12.06.2023, Moscow.

The destruction of Communism initiated the process of dehumanization and the destruction of the project of Man, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said in an interview published on June 1 in the Science and Religion journal.

Kurginyan noted that as soon something is destroyed, something else immediately expands to take its place. He believes that this is objective, and it cannot happen another way.

This is what happened, and as soon as Communism was ruined together with its humanistic intentions and its contemplations about a new Man… As soon as the idea of a new Man was destroyed, this entailed a related collapse of a much stronger humanistic structure, and therefore dehumanization, Kurginyan said.

The political scientist stressed that the West directly declares at the philosophic level that humanism has failed, that the project of Man has failed, and that the end of history has come. This is followed by speculations that Homo sapiens is a dead end race and that the human population has to be reduced.

Then, it is just one step from dehumanization, from the withdrawal of the project of Man, to questioning the species of Homo sapiens itself. If this is not the crown of creation and not an ascending Man, which is supposed to save the Cosmos, then what is it needed for? Kurginyan wonders.
