Russian air defense intercepted the first Storm Shadow cruise missile that the United Kingdom recently handed over to the Ukrainian armed units, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service said in a daily report on May 15.
“The air defense assets intercepted seven HARM anti-radar missiles, one Storm Shadow long-range cruise missile, as well as ten HIMARS multiple-launch rockets during the day,” the Russian Defense Ministry noted.
The British Storm Shadow was the first modern long-range missile supplied by the West to the Ukrainian armed units. The export version has a range of 250 km, and the full version has a range of over 500 km.
