Acting DPR head congratulates compatriots on Republic Day

The future of the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) who have shown great fortitude in the fight against Ukrainian Nazism is connected with Russia, the acting DPR head Denis Pushilin said on May 11 in his video message to the DPR residents on the occasion of Republic Day. The video address was posted on Pushilin’s Telegram channel.

Pushilin said he was proud of his compatriots who showed great unity, who stood up in 2014 “to fight for freedom, to prevent Nazism from coming to our land.” He said that residents of Donbass will always “defend their right to speak their native language, cherish our culture, history and traditions.”

According to him, the residents of the region have demonstrated their ability to fight back against the enemy, their determination “to fight on the side of truth and justice.”

“Now we are not alone, our future is inextricably linked to Russia, to the Russian world,” Pushilin said, adding that “there is still much work to be done to restore the Republic.”

Pushilin said he was confident that the DPR people were ready to work for the revival of Donbass, he wished his compatriots new accomplishments, prosperity and victorious peace.

May 11 is Republic Day in the Donetsk People’s Republic, established in honor of the referendum on self-determination held on May 11, 2014 in the cities and districts of the former Donetsk region, which was attended by three-quarters of the population of the region.
