US intelligence agencies are suspected of wiretapping a closed meeting between representatives of the German Defense Ministry and a Chinese delegation, Die Zeit newspaper wrote on April 27.
The newspaper referred to a document that is allegedly a consolidated report of the US intelligence service.
“Notable in the document is not so much its content as the fact that the USA is apparently still spying on German government institutions,” the ARD channel also reported.
The US intelligence agencies apparently closely followed the February 20, 2023 closed-door meeting of representatives of the German Defense Ministry with the Chinese military. Thus, Washington was aware of what was discussed in these bilateral consultations.
