The West has canceled its own rules of world order, and it has rejected development, thus changing the concept of the world in order to avoid losing against the autocratic modernist states that are catching up, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda channel on April 4.
The political scientist reminded former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s statement about changing the vector of the US foreign policy, when she said that autocracies had turned from West’s friends to its enemies. After Condoleezza Rice, other US politicians made similar statements, starting from then US President George Bush.
“This is a steep turn of the West. What does an Anglo-Saxon do when he is losing a game? He changes the rules. You are winning a game of chess – he takes the board and hits you on your head, and that’s it. He will not keep losing, he will be changing the rules,” Sergey Kurginyan stressed. “Eventually, everyone must understand this, including our top officials, if they still doubt this.”
Commenting the idea reiterated by the Western politicians about a rules-based order, the expert explained that this means “No one is going to let you win under these rules. You must be losing, then the rules are good. If you are losing under the WTO, then the WTO is good. If you are wining under the WTO – and China is winning – then the WTO is bad, we do not need it,” he noted.
Currently, Kurginyan reminded, China has been declared the West’s main enemy, after it stared winning against the West under the rules that the West established. The same applies to Europe, which is winning under these rules, the political scientist insists.
“At that moment they said that China, which is winning us under our rules, is our main enemy, as well as Europe, which is also winning under our rules, etc. This means we will change the rules,” the expert explained this position.
“Condoleezza Rice was the first to say that this new rule turns the good – authoritarianism – into the bad, and now we will exist under these new rules on the globe. We have new friends, new enemies, and a new concept of the world, in which the idea of development for all has been canceled under various excuses, from environment to blaming authoritarianism,” the political scientist explained.
According to the Western rules, the catching-up countries must never outpace the developed countries, but they must always remain behind them. All the Western countries’ policy over the past 20 years has been following the new global concept, Kurginyan concluded.
