The US authorities admitted exceeding the price cap set by the West for purchasing Russian ESPO oil from the Far East, Kommersant writes on April 18.
According to the US Treasury Department, “unscrupulous” carriers manipulate the data of automatic identification systems (AIS) installed on tankers. The facts of entering Russian ports are concealed, or the transshipment of raw materials at sea is used.
The US Ministry recommended U.S. companies to closely monitor the AIS data of sea tankers, so as not to be accidentally involved in schemes to circumvent the price cap for Russian oil.
