Belgian journalist Jan Humin shared his view of the situation in Artemovsk [Bakhmut] in Ukraine in an article for German Bild on April 12.
“Only two roads connect the nearly encircled city with the territory under the control of Ukraine. In the city itself, the Russians are advancing street by street,” the journalist noted.
According to the journalist, he did not notice a positive mood among the Ukrainian military. He described their mood as concentrated and tense.
According to the journalist, many Ukrainians do not understand what they are fighting for in Artemovsk.
“The Russians are slowly but surely winning the battle of Bakhmut [Artemovsk],” Humin concluded.
The acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said that the Russian military took all administrative buildings in Artemovsk under their control. The battle to liberate the city, which is a transport hub, has been going on for six months.
