The Ukrainian armed units have an acute shortage of junior and middle-ranking commanders due to the heavy fighting in Artemovsk, according to reports from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper.
The newspaper quotes Colonel Sergey Litovchenko, deputy head of the Military Personnel Policy Department of the Personnel Policy Department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
He said that sergeants without a higher education but with combat experience could apply for officer positions.
“The Ukrainian armed units have a personnel shortage of junior and mid-level command personnel – everyone were eliminated in the heavy fighting in Artemovsk,” The Essence of Time‘s editorial reads.
