The death of Ukrainian Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky strangely coincided with the decision to involve the police and the National Guard in combat operations, according to newspaper Essence of Time reports from the war theater.
The newspaper quotes a statement by the new head of the ministry, Igor Klimenko, who said that the Interior Ministry is forming assault brigades for the offensive. According to him, this decision was caused by the initiative of the ministry employees.
The ministry decided to unite all such volunteers into brigades. The formation of the units has already begun. They will include active and former frontier guards, police officers, national guardsmen, servicemen and SBU employees.
“Because of the heavy losses at Artemovsk, the Ukrainian army decided to return to the experience of previous years and involve the police, National Guard and border guards in the counteroffensive being prepared for the spring. The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has begun forming eight brigades. The main goal is to assemble the most experienced to strike in Crimea.”
“Also voiced the version that the death of the head of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky very well ‘coincided’ with the decision to send police officers and the National Guard assault troops to the front. According to an unofficial version, the helicopter with Monastyrsky on board was shot down by a missile from the ground,” says an editorial in the Essence of Time newspaper.
