Putin’s period became an era of tranquility specifically for the small-time man, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 14 at a conference of the organization in Moscow.
“The destruction of the great Man, about whom Roshchin (a hero of Tolstoy’s novel The Road to Calvary – Rossa Primavera News Agency) spoke, and the reduction of Man in general to the little man was taking place, I repeat, both in the West and in the USSR in the so-called period of stagnation. It is the success of this destruction that entailed the collapse of the USSR and everything that happened afterwards to the Russian Federation, which was later called ‘troubled 1990s,’” he told.
Putin’s period, according to the political scientist, on the one hand, brought salvation from the ultimate death of the Russian state. A death that would have left no chance for the existence of the Russian people and the other peoples of Russia and that would have dramatically exacerbated the construction of a disastrous world order.
“A world order that would essentially align the power with the already created the small-time man, and such an alignment is only possible in an absolutely tyrannic and anti-humanistic authority, i.e. an ‘iron oligarchic heel,’” Kurginyan explained.
On the other hand, according to Kurginyan, Putin’s period became an era of tranquility specifically for the small-time man, who was told, “Eradicate the great Man from yourself and do not worry. Accept the small-time life, which is deeply consonant to the small-time man into which you will transform yourself. Calm down inside this life and celebrate its specific beauty.”
Kurginyan believes that it remains to be discovered whether the little man was successfully tranquilized and immersed into the little life consonant to him.
“But the very fact that such a tranquilization operation was ongoing, and that it was essentially consonant to what was taking place in the West and in China, where hardly anything remains from Communism, and everywhere on the globe, is now obvious. This is what globalization, and the end of history, and many other things are striving for,” Kurginyan said.
The philosopher noted that as the man becomes smaller the more powerful and fierce the tyranny has to be as the only way to keep the belittling of man under control and to avoid the destruction of the giant multi-billion hive.
“This is the poorly understood but absolutely obvious truth of the 21st century. And people fail to understand it solely because they are afraid of understanding it,” Kurginyan believes.
According to Kurginyan, the people of Russia were encouraged to become little through permanently removing great people from themselves, and after this transformation to enjoy the little life consonant to their littleness and giving them certain consolation.
“This consonance is the essence of the agreement between a society of small-time people and a government which brings these little people to reason, which prevents them from any revolts, which tranquilizes them with little mercies out of fear that they can revolt and out of knowledge about what can follow,” he said.
Kurginyan noted that a revolt of the little man is a pure total destruction and nothing else. “A small-time man cannot revolt like the Bolsheviks. All he can do is an absolutely anarchic riot,” Kurginyan noted.
