Ukrainian armed units left a large number of weapons and ammunition while fleeing from Soledar in a panic, the press service of the People’s Militia (PM) of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) reported on January 16.
It is noted that a large number of bodies of Ukrainian militants were found in Soledar liberated from the Ukrainian forces. In addition, there are many damaged and destroyed Ukrainian equipment, abandoned weapons and ammunition, including ammunition produced by NATO member countries, on the territory of the city.
“All of this was abandoned by nationalists who tried to flee Soledar in a panic, but not all of them succeeded,” the report reads.
The DPR People’s Militia published a video from Soledar on its Telegram channel which shows the situation in the city.
On January 12, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the liberation of Soledar from Ukrainian armed units was completed.
