South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol instructed the defense minister to create a multi-purpose joint UAV unit and create a mass production system for small, hard-to-detect drones and stealth drones by the end of the year, Yonhap News Agency reported on January 4, citing the president’s office.
The country’s defense ministry previously reported that five North Korean drones invaded the country’s airspace, and some of them were able to penetrate deep into the country’s airspace.
