Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech during an annual meeting of the Defense Ministry Board in Moscow on December 21:
the security of residents will be ensured on all territories of the Russian Federation, including the new ones;
communications, automated weapons control systems, counter-battery warfare, and target designation systems are the issues we will have to work on;
all information about weapons used by NATO must be carefully analyzed by the General Staff;
officers and non-commissioned officers who have proven themselves during the special military operation should be promoted to command positions in the first place;
we will continue to maintain the combat readiness of the nuclear triad;
Sarmat strategic missiles will be put on combat duty in the near future. We will continue the development of hypersonic missile systems. Next year the frigate Admiral Gorshkov will be put on duty;
The use of UAVs should be maximized, they should be integrated into a common encrypted network. This should be implemented right now;
Today the military potential of almost all NATO countries is used against Russia;
We will not militarize the country and the economy;
Our strategic adversaries have the goal of disintegrating and weakening, disuniting our country.
After the collapse of the USSR, which we ourselves allowed to happen, for some reason, we thought that one day we would become part of this so-called civilized world.
What is happening is our common tragedy, it is not the result of our politics but the result of the politics of third countries.
