Russia is getting rid of the illusion of becoming part of Greater Europe, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said at the Primakov Readings in Moscow on December 6.
“We have what we have. Three decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has not become an integrated part of Greater Europe,” Ushakov stressed.
“Russia did not get an ‘apartment’ in the pan-European house. We were not allowed to do this, and we ourselves now realize that these expectations and prospects were, in general, quite illusory. We are now moving away from such illusions,” he added.
Earlier, philosopher, political analyst, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on November 25 during a program on Radio “Star” that Russia has always been distinguished by its desire to defend humanism and historicity of the existing world, the human right to ascend, and this is why it is especially hated by the West.
In this sense, Russia should not try to become like the West, but to realize its own path and start moving along it, the philosopher explained.
