The European Union is one step away from a trade war with the United States over the US Inflation Reduction Act, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said on December 4.
“The European Union will respond in an adequate and well-calibrated manner to the Inflation Reduction Act,” she said and added that a trade war with the US was not in anyone’s interests.
Ursula von der Leyen pointed out that the new US law has the potential to lead to unfair competition, closing markets and interrupting critical supply chains.
