Russia’s intense conflict with the West will stretch out for 50 years or forever, said philosopher, analyst, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the air of the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda on November 25.
Kurginyan suggested assessing the reality in which Russia found itself after the start of the conflict in Ukraine. In his opinion, it is important to correctly predict the future of the country by discussing all possible hypotheses.
Supporters of reconciliation with the West still argue that sooner or later the US and Europe will “come to their senses” and return to normal relations with Russia, the political scientist noted. He added that if this is true, then the Russian future is one, and if not, it is different.
“What we are witnessing now in the form of the Ukrainian tragedy is this black cloud which will pour out some, even bloody, rain and go away, and there will be again a blue sky of some cloudless relations. Or are these just the first signs of future hurricanes, tsunamis, and the like?” – the analyst asked the audience.
There are two important factors to consider in understanding the future, he explained. The first factor is the reality that Russia has already created, and the second factor is the surrounding world reality.
“I personally believe, and I will be glad to be wrong, that everything that is happening now in the form of this very confrontational format of our existence in relation to the West – it will last fifty years. It’s for a long time. In fact, forever,” Kurginyan concluded.
