European countries have become the perpetrators of the situation in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview for the film “Nazism Under Investigation,” published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry on November 26.
According to Lavrov, the long years of attempts to convince the West to agree to an equal, mutually respectful agreement for ensuring universal security without the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance have been unsuccessful.
Lavrov called Europe the “author” of the current situation and expressed hope that, after the experience with the Arab Spring, the current Ukrainian “wave” would be perceived in the European Union as information for pondering.
Lavrov also noted German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock’s words that she understands the problems of German voters, but that it is now “more important” to meet Ukraine’s needs for military assistance.
“With this kind of philosophy, Europe… I wish her good luck,” the minister concluded.
Earlier, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the air of the program “Conversation with the Sage” on Radio Zvezda said that for a very long time the authorities believed that if they accepted Western common standards and norms, then it would be possible to live in peace with the West.
Kurginyan also explained that the situation was such that Russia was trying more and more to fit into the Western world and be like it, but the West rejected such integration with Russia.
