More and more Germans accept the Russian point of view on the conflict in Ukraine. This is evidenced by the data of the Spiegel survey on November 12.
According to the survey, 40% of respondents fully or partially agreed with the statement that the start of the special military operation was the only possible reaction of Russia. In April, this point of view was supported by 11% fewer respondents.
The number of those who believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin is acting against the “global elite” increased by 12%. Now 44% of respondents gave a positive answer to this question.
14% of respondents fully agree that Ukraine historically has no territorial claims and “is actually part of Russia.”
9% fully agree that the war was “necessary” to destroy fascism in Ukraine. Previously, only 4.5% of German citizens answered this question positively.
