In order to win in Ukraine, to preserve the country and its power, the Russian ruling class has to demonstrate political competence the way the French bourgeoisie did after the French Revolution, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on November 7 in a celebration address on the anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
Kurginyan reminded that in order to win, the French bourgeoisie “really worked wonders.” It promoted from its ranks new talented and previously unknown leaders and commanders, it successfully built a new army and defense industry, and it gave the people privileges they had never had before.
Revolutionary General Dumouriez found a way for poorly trained French soldiers to confront well trained troops of the Duke of Brunswick and to defeat them.
“Dumouriez used extended ranks, and he used artillery differently, and he won the battle of Valmy. The French bourgeoisie demonstrated competence for military creation and promotion of new military leaders, and it won,” the political scientist explained.
The bourgeoisie promoted from its ranks an unknown engineer named Lazare Carnot, who “built the French defense industry based on fundamentally different grounds.” General of the French Republic Louis Lazare Hoche, the son of a retired soldier, defeated the Austrian and Prussian forces that intended to occupy France.
Any attempts to partition France were suppressed in an manner typical of that time. “The French Convention declared that it would execute any separatist intending to push the country towards a semi-disintegrated monarchic condition, and it centralized absolutely everything, and it sent the guillotine to Vendee where a reactionary monarchic revolt took place, and to southern France, i.e. Provence, Languedoc and elsewhere, where any separatism or any attempt to transform France into a confederation was suppressed with the same sort of merciless revolutionary measures,” the analyst added.
Young sub-lieutenant Bonaparte became in the system a dictator and emperor. He created police and governing apparatus, a defense industry and an army of an unprecedented efficacy, which cleared feudalism out of Europe.
“All this was done by the French bourgeoisie by demonstrating only one quality: political competence. It was politically competent, it loved and was able to build a nation, it was up-to-date, it was daring, and it showed all these qualities, and it kept showing them until World War Two, when the French bourgeoisie finally failed,” the political scientist stressed.
The French bourgeoisie not only proved its competence, but it created a new culture and fashion, it acquired a new respect in the public, and it merged with the masses to propose a novelty of removing the estatist divisions. The French bourgeoisie did not allow France to partition in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This was an example for the members of the Russian bourgeoisie of the early 20th century. And that Russian bourgeoisie had many prominent dynamic and efficient people like Morozov, Ryabushinsky, Terentyev, Tereshchenko, and others, Kurginyan noted.
According to Kurginyan, Russia will not withstand and win unless the Russian top officials make “a revolution from above.” The latter has to begin with an acknowledgment that the drift towards the West was a mistake, and that now our country will take another path. A privileged group of the Russian society must become the military servicemen now defending our Motherland, but not the elite youth with Western education as it used to be over the entire post-Soviet period.
The Russian elite itself should undergo serious transformations: instead of people who can only purchase goods abroad and implement Western experience in Russia, new talented people should come who have demonstrated their efficacy and who can build an efficient army, defense sector, industry, science etc. Thefts have to be prevented in a merciless manner.
