Close relations between Russia and China are one of the main factors in forming a fairer multipolar world order, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on October 31 in a video address to the participants in The Role of Public Diplomacy in the Establishment, Restoration and Development of Russia-China Relations conference.
Lavrov congratulated the conference participants on the 65th anniversary of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society. He stressed that it is the oldest nongovernmental organization of this kind.
The diplomat said that the “collective West” has appointed Russia and China as its main adversaries and uses “the most unscrupulous methods of ‘geopolitical engineering'” against them. It is under such conditions that the two countries have to coordinate their foreign policy.
“The close relations between Moscow and Beijing are one of the key factors in the democratization of international relations and the formation of a fairer multipolar world order,” Lavrov said.
