The liberation of Artemovsk by the Russian troops will disrupt the logistics of the Ukrainian armed units, which will make it possible to launch an offensive to northern DPR, the republic’s acting head Denis Pushylin said on October 27 on Solovyov Live.
Pushilin noted some successes in the advance of Russian troops in the Artemovsk direction.
“There are some achievements in Artemovsk. It is difficult. The enemy throws up more and more new forces, not always trained, but nevertheless they strengthened their position enough in Artemovsk, they had time to prepare,” he said.
He noted that the fortification line Slavyansk – Artemovsk – Kramatorsk passes through Artemovsk, and its liberation will deal a very serious blow to the Ukrainian troops and allow Russia to begin an offensive.
“If Artemovsk is liberated, it will be a very serious blow to the enemy, the roads used to bring ammunition and reinforcements will be disrupted. That is, they will essentially have these connections severed. This will create a rather convenient situation for the liberation of Kramatorsk, and then we will be able to proceed directly to the liberation of the north of the republic,” the DPR acting head stressed.
From September 23 to 27 in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the liberated areas of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine, there were referendums on joining Russia. During the voting, an overwhelming number of the residents voted in favor of becoming part of the Russian Federation.
On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leaders of the DPR and LPR, as well as the heads of the regional administrations of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, signed agreements on the accession of these regions as subjects of Russia in St. George’s Hall of the Kremlin.
