Through transhumanism, which proposes the replacement of the individual with artificial intelligence, society may receive a surrogate of human. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ warned on October 25 at the plenum of the World Russian People’s Council (WRNSC).
“Transhumanism is an ideology of radical change in human nature, involving the attainment of actual immortality, taking human consciousness beyond the human body to another material platform. This doctrine is dangerous and unacceptable, because it directs society toward the creation of a surrogate of human, which can completely replace the real human,” Patriarch Kirill said.
He added that in essence, this ideology proposes to replace human personality with artificial intelligence.
The World Russian People’s Council has been held in Russia since 1993. The event brings together people who are concerned about the fate of Russia. Leaders of public organizations, representatives of all branches of government, senior clerics of all major religions represented in Russia, as well as students and teachers of universities and others participate in the council. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ will preside over the Council.
