The Ukrainian army’s attack on downtown Kherson with US HIMARS rockets resulted in fatalities and injuries, RIA Novosti reported on September 16.
At least five rockets of the US M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems hit the city center.
Earlier, it was reported that the water level rose near the Ingulets River, disrupting the crossings built by Ukrainian troops from the right bank to the left bank near the borders of the Kherson region. As a result, the Ukrainian army was left without supplies and found themselves in a tactical encirclement.
In mid-March, the Kherson region was under full control of the Russian Armed Forces. In late April, a civil and military administration was formed in the region, after which the authorities of the region declared their desire for the region to become part of the Russian Federation.
