If Serbia “invades” self-proclaimed Kosovo, Kiev will have to stand up for the Kosovars and use its military for this purpose, Ukrainian MP Aleksey Goncharenko said on Twitter on July 31.
He noted that Serbia is allegedly “trying to start an aggressive war.” “If Serbia invades Kosovo, we must protect the Kosovars. Ukraine with its military on the ground is ready to act.”
The self-proclaimed “republic of Kosovo” banned entry to its territory for persons that have personal documents issued in Serbia as of August 1. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called the Kosovo Albanian authorities for peace, and stated that in case of aggression against Serbs it would not go unpunished.
Vucic also called on the Kosovo Albanian authorities to respect peace and warned that in case of aggression against Serbs in Kosovo, “Serbia will win.”
