A Ukrainian armed unit of unspecified size made a breakthrough attempt on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), TASS reported on June 17, citing sources in the defense ministry.
The Ukrainian militants made a breakthrough attempt near Makeevka, but their attack was repulsed, and the advancing Ukrainian unit was forced to retreat under artillery attacks.
Kiev, in pursuit of political goals and seeking to maintain the illusion of active operations in the information space, has repeatedly reported on the mythical successes of the Ukrainian army. For example, there have been reports from Kiev of an alleged attack on Serovorodonetsk, which have each time been refuted by fresh videos of Russian forces patrolling the city in search of “attacking Ukrainians.”
It is also worth recalling that the Ukrainian command sent these new units to certain death or captivity with only one goal in mind: to claim an “offensive” of troops in the eastern direction.
