Will US military aid to Ukraine end up in other countries? Opinion

25.04.2022, Moscow.

Under these conditions, the US military and technical assistance may end up in the hands of armed groups far outside Ukraine, Rossa Primavera News Agency editorial published on April 25 reads.

Earlier, the Pentagon chief admitted that the USA did not keep track of the weapons supplied to Kiev. The US is unable to keep further records of military equipment supplied to the Kiev regime, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin admitted at a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken following their visit to Kiev.

“There’s a saying – ‘war will write it all off.’ Despite cheerful reports from the Western media and politicians, the Ukrainian army and the US- and NATO-backed Nazi gangs are suffering heavy defeats as a result of which Russian, DPR and LPR troops are actually seizing large amounts of trophy weapons and equipment.

In the absence of a working accounting system, the shady business in Kiev has good opportunities to establish a delivery of smuggled Stingers, Javelins and other items to third countries. In case of any questions, one can always say that the weapons were seized by Russian troops.

The Stinger man-portable air defense systems supplied by the US to Afghanistan spread around the globe and were used in hot spots far beyond Afghanistan. The volume of equipment supplied by the West to Ukraine is dramatically greater than that supplied to Afghanistan.

It is quite predictable that under these conditions US military-technical assistance can end up in the hands of armed groups far beyond Ukraine”.

In the post-Soviet period, Ukraine has become one of the world centers of illegal arms trade. It is known that oligarch and former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko earned most of his fortune from arms smuggling to the so-called Third World.
