Russia is successfully and efficiently achieving all the planned goals of the special operation in Ukraine, head of Chair of Political and Social Science of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, expert of the Association of Military Political Scientists Andrey Koshkin said on February 28 in a comment to the Rossa Primavera News Agency.
“The combat plan is being met. All the goals of demilitarization and the destruction of military infrastructure [of Ukraine ― Rossa Primavera News Agency] are achieved. About one thousand targets have been destroyed,” Koshkin reported.
He noted that the Ukrainian nationalists respond very fiercely and act against their own people.
“The nationalist groups respond very fiercely using human shield, we see this. (…) Also, the current Kiev regime is trying to throw the country into chaos through activating sound alerts to initiate street disorders. They have handed out 18 to 25 thousand firearms to the population, the exact number of which can hardly be established,” the military expert explained.
According to Koshkin, the Ukrainian authorities encourage the disorders and atrocities in the streets of the cities in order to later blame it on the Russian army.
“They have started shooting each other, looting, punishing businessmen, paying back to those who hurt them. Also, as far as I know, a decision was made to free prisoners (…) in order to throw the country into chaos, i.e. they are making a picture to later blame it all on the Russians,” the political scientist believes.
On February 24, President of Russia Vladimir Putin decided to initiate a special operation in Donbass after the leaders of the Donetsk and the Lugansk people’s republics addressed him with a request of help.
Previously, on February 21, Putin summoned an urgent session of the Security Council of the Russian Federation to decide on the recognition of the republics of Donbass. In his address to the people of Russia he announced the recognition of independence of Donbass from Ukraine, and he signed treaties with the leaders of the republics.
