The Russians have proven their effectiveness and readiness to bring the Central African Republic’s security and defense forces into action, non-government organization Talitha Koum Blaise Didacien Kossimatchi said on December 6, Ndjoni Sango reported.
According to Blaise Didacien Kossimatchi, “The people of the Central African Republic are surprised by the position of the European Union against Russian military specialists in the Central African Republic.”
He also posed a question: what are the real actions of the European Union Training Mission (EUTM) in terms of strengthening the operational capacity of the Central African Army and ensuring the security of the state?
“The European Union did not rush to train our FACA [Central African Armed Forces – Rossa Primavera News Agency], which did not have a facility, using drumsticks instead of weapons and batons, and master courses in international humanitarian law, as if our FACA were freshmen in law school. No, the Russians have proven their effectiveness and their willingness to bring our security and defense forces into action,” the social activist said.
He also stressed that moral lessons from European powers in this context are “untimely.”
“We call on all our European friends, public opinion, and European civil society to dissociate themselves from the destructive model and neocolonial philosophy that France defends against African states in general and the CAR in particular,” Blaise Didacien Cosimachi said.
Russian military specialists are in the CAR with the permission of the UN Security Council and at the request of the official government. The FACA units formed by them were able to prevent an attempted coup d’état in December 2020 and subsequently liberate the main cities and roads of the country.
