The Western world as a whole does not know what to do with developing China, so it blames the Celestial Empire for all the troubles, director of the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aleksey Maslov said on August 13 on the air of the Vesti FM radio.
“It’s not about the coronavirus at all, it’s about making China an absolutely toxic country, blame it for everything, not to let it stabilize and win some time for themselves, I do not mean the United States, but for the Western world as a whole, to gather strength and understand – what to do next with this ‘developing’ China,” the expert said.
In his opinion, the US elites have missed a certain civilizational moment when China began to influence almost all spheres of global life, and today they have nothing to oppose to China, so the coronavirus is just an excuse.
On August 13, the Bloomberg agency reported that Washington plans to create a special center to monitor China’s activities.
According to journalists, the center is planned to be separated from the department responsible for East Asia and the Pacific. Thus, it is planned to allocate more specialists and money for monitoring of China.
Relations between the United States and China have recently deteriorated due to the controversy over the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. On August 10, the Global Times reported that intelligence agencies were looking for dirt that would allow them to accuse China of “concealing the truth of the virus’ origin.”
