Russian military restore a village in Syria destroyed by militants

12.07.2021, Hama.

Russia helped restore Zara village in the Syrian Hama province of Hama, which was destroyed by terrorists, and return its residents, a representative of the Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring in Syrian Arab Republic Andrey Dudkin told reporters on July 12.

“The Centre for Reconciliation made significant efforts to revive the village,” Dudkin said. The communal and social infrastructure of the village has been restored by regional authorities, he added.

The villagers, 152 people in total, are now returning to their homes. Before the restoration of the village, they lived in a refugee camp, which is now dissolved, said the representative of the Centre for Reconciliation.

The terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra (organization banned in Russia) seized Zara village in Syria in 2016. According to eyewitnesses, the militants ruthlessly massacred local residents.
