Western society’s value system forces people into regress and forms an “involutional democracy”, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 26 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.
According to him, value systems in the world have always been determined by their attitude to Man and to the possibility of his development:
“When Communists or Christians said that the goal was to ascend through certain steps to God, to Man with a capital ‘M’, and so on, it was about systems of ascension. Then, with the light hand of Protestants and others, it was said: Man is burdened with original sin, he is always and forever sinful.”
The political scientist noted that this Protestant approach had shaped the Western system that existed until recently.
“Communists invented a society for angels, but people are not angels. The problem is that Man is a given and one cannot do anything to change him. However, we will create some rules, institutions and procedures within which this dirty reality will work for the sake of technical progress,” Kurginyan described the main idea of the first builders of capitalism.
Kurginyan added that the creation of this system was a great achievement of the Anglo-Saxon society. But it collapsed, “and now we are dealing with a completely different system, which quite clearly says that man must descend — he does not remain a constant, he does not ascend, he descends.”
The leader of the Essence of Time believes that such system under the banner of modern democracy leads people to regress:
“Then we are talking about a democracy of the end times. This is an absolutely correct statement, which does not necessarily require religiosity. Although religious people have a better understanding of what it is.”
