Kurginyan: Capitalism will start eliminating the people it does not need

15.04.2021, Moscow.

As capitalism evolves, it transforms from a “total surveillance capitalism” to an “extermination capitalism,” which will eliminate the excessive population who bring no profit, or lock them in a ghetto of non-development, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 6 on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.

One may think that the modernizing China and India will be allowed to develop and become prosperous if they are more compliant with the West and have “good” authorities. This opinion is wrong, Kurginyan believes. “In the world today, no one can allow one billion Indians and one and a half billion Chinese to live like Americans, i.e. to have two cars, a house, electricity, etc. This will never happen,” he said.

How can anyone prevent people striving for prosperity from prospering? “How can anyone make these billions and billions poor or stop living altogether?” the political scientist wonders.

If profit is the goal of capitalism, then, according to the expert, the main question arises: why keep people around who decrease profit and compete for resources? “If profit is your criterion, then you do not need this number people. They will become more and more unnecessary,” the political scientist stressed.

By 2050, robots and 300-400 million of highly-qualified workers will be enough for capitalism to “fill the world with any goods,” the expert believes.

Therefore, capitalism fears the growth of population and life expectancy. According to Kurginyan, its reaction is, “They will live longer, and their number will be greater! Who needs them at all? These people, billions of them, are absolutely unnecessary.”

The political scientist proposed his view on how capitalism will resolve the overpopulation problem. “Capitalism, as it evolves further and further (and it is not true that imperialism is the final step; there is still a far way to go with many options for changes), is evolving into an extermination society, which will eliminate the majority of its population or lock it in a ghetto that has nothing to do with development,” Kurginyan said.

The expert is confident that this is the reason why authoritarianism has been chosen as the West’s main enemy. The West has to prevent any development on the periphery, because it “undermines the key principle,” the principle of profit.

“I would be happy if the future of capitalism’s development was not so gloomy, but everything we see suggests that even these kinds of predictions are too soft towards what is happening every day,” Sergey Kurginyan concluded.
