A global state, like one described in The Iron Heel, is being constructed throughout the world in order to save capitalism, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 6 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One TV channel.
The political scientist noted that after the collapse of the USSR the world came back to the global capitalistic system, which is inevitably affected by the law of uneven development.
“The most important thing is that this law is inevitable, which means US-Chinese competition, as it was the case earlier between Great Britain and Germany,” said Kurginyan.
According to him, a nuclear war between world powers still remains unlikely. So, there is only one option left on how to save capitalism. This scenario was predicted at the very beginning of the 20th century.
“It was said that the main option to save capitalism is ‘the iron heel’. It is Jack London’s concept from his eponymous novel. We are now really witnessing this society of total surveillance,” the political scientist explained.
Kurginyan stressed that the hysteria around the COVID-19 with total lockdowns and draconian measures reminds exactly the creation of an “iron heel” society.
The leader of the Essence of Time believes that the coronavirus is being used to create a capitalism of surveillance and digitalization.
He added that the creation of an “iron heel” society does not cancel purely capitalist competition: both world powers and global corporations are fighting for hegemony in the field of surveillance.
