Political scientist explains how the environmental issues are being used in politics

08.04.2021, Moscow.

The environmental agenda is used to stop world development, doctor of political science, professor at Moscow State University Sergey Chernyakhovsky shared his opinion with Rossa Primavera News Agency.

“The topic of ecology, in particular, is aimed at being able to slow down industrial development. Because that industrial development gave rise to a self-sufficient working class,” the scientist explained.

Chernyakhovsky reminded that the Club of Rome raised the topic of ecology as early as in 1972 in its report The Limits to Growth. For what concerns the climate, “there is a certain vector which is very close to environmental fascism,” according to which there should be three worlds:

The first one “lives off the benefits of technological progress,” the second one “ensures industrial development,” and the third one “becomes a kind of reservation” where any development is forbidden.

“It is forbidden to do anything but stay in the ‘natural environment,’ begin to control the birth rate, treatment, fishing and everything else,” said the doctor of political science.

As Rossa Primavera News Agency informed, Carnegie Moscow Center published the article Russia Is Ignoring Climate Change at Its Own Peril by Ekaterina Moore on April 7. Moore criticized Russia’s position on the issue of climate change.

According to the author of the article, researcher at the New York Center for Foreign Policy, the Russian government and society do not understand the problem of climate change, and soon it will become a reason for the West exert pressure on Russia.
