Kurginyan shows what Russia has to do to stand up to the West

Without a proper ideology, Russia will simply die, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on February 21 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program.

The political scientist explained that if Russia continues its attempts “to become part of the Western civilization,” the country will die. Moreover, contemporary Russia will not even be able to withstand a serious confrontation with the West.

“We strive to become part of the West. To get there at any cost. Meanwhile, everyone understands very well that going there means death to the country. And that the only thing we can do is to go back the other way,” Kurginyan noted. And he immediately posed a question whether people understand, at least approximately, the meaning of the words “to return to something like what saved [Russia] in the 1930s.”

According to the political scientist, Russia has lost its national food industry; at best, certain major agricultural clusters have survived. Moreover, almost all of the industrial issues in the country have to be solved again, and its entire financial system has to be fundamentally rearranged.

Kurginyan stressed, “Furthermore, the ideology has to be changed, it has to be introduced, to substantiate that the West is death and we are salvation. Instead of talking about how good they are, how we like everything they have, but they condemn us. Well, if they are good, and they condemn us, then we are bad. Is this the ideology we are going to stand our ground with?”

And we will need to stand our ground, he added.

The political scientist believes that many in the Russian elite hope that “this is a different West, it is really decaying, it has its own problems, too many of them, and maybe its pressure will not be too hard.”

“But what if it is really hard?” Kurginyan asked.
