Pushkov names the reason of the German authorities’ ambiguous attitude to Nazism

19.12.2020, Moscow.

The German authorities close their eyes to manifestations of neo-Nazism beyond their country, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov wrote on December 19 on his Telegram channel.

This was Pushkov’s reaction to the fact that in Germany a doctor, who had publicly compared the wearing of masks to the yellow Star of David, can become a defendant in a criminal case since such comparison is considered to be an abuse of freedom of speech.

The Senator noted that the German authorities harshly suppress any manifestation of Nazism on its own territory, but they are neutral to the glorification of Hitler’s accomplices in Ukraine as well as they close their eyes to torchlight processions in Kiev and ignore the SS marches in the Baltic states.

The expert said that Germany’s reluctance to support a Russian resolution in the UN against the glorification of Nazism and neo-Nazism had become one of the latest episodes of its ambiguous attitude.

“So, this principle is respected only inside the country, but that is not the case in German foreign policy,” explained Pushkov.
