Turkey got the opportunity to choose options in its relations with Russia and the West, which is very similar to the role of Germany in the 30s, said political scientist, Doctor of Political Science, Professor of Lomonosov Moscow State University Lomonosov Sergey Chernyakhovsky on November 27 in an interview with a Rossa Primavera News Agency correspondent.

Take a look at Turkey’s nowadays role without demonization. We consider Turkey as a force that allows to restrain US activity in the region. The United States considers it as a force that can put pressure on us and interfere with our strengthening in the region, ” said Chernyakhovsky.

Accordingly, Turkey gets the opportunity to choose options in its relations with the two parties – this is the exactly the role of Germany in the 1930s,” he added.

Turkey provided military assistance to Azerbaijan in the second war against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which lasted 44 days.

It should be noted that the fighting ended on November 9, when a truce was signed, according to which a significant part of the territories of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic were transferred to Azerbaijan. The truce was signed with the direct intervention into the conflict of the Russian President.

According to the signed document, a Russian peacekeeping contingent is introduced into the remaining Nagorno-Karabakh territory for a five-year period, followed by an automatic prolongation.
