Video: Azerbaijan fires MLRS munitions on Stepanakert

The press service of the Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a video recording of firing with MLRS munitions on residential areas of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh Republic) capital of Stepanakert on October 5 on its Facebook page.

The video was shot from the car recorder in the morning of October 4. The message reads that the video recorded “firing of Azerbaijan’s cluster munitions on residential areas of the Stepanakert capital.”

In the morning of October 4, Nagorno-Karabakh’s President Araik Harutyunyan informed that Azerbaijani armed forces fired on the capital of NKR with large-caliber multiple-launch rocket systems “Smerch” and “Polonez”.

Combat in Nagorno-Karabakh serupted on September 27. Armenian Defense Ministry announced about rocket hitting and artillery shelling of Karabakh settlements from Azerbaijani territory. A few hours after reports of first shelling, Azerbaijan announced the launching of “counterattack” operation along the whole contact line [its length is more than 200 km – Rossa Primavera News Agency].

Armenia stated that such a major operation could not have been planned in several hours and was prepared in advance.

Immediately after the start of the hostilities, Turkey declared its full (including military) support to Azerbaijan. On October 4, the President of Azerbaijan stated that “the first to blame is the Armenian leadership and a number of countries that wanted the occupation and status quo to continue”.

On 5 October, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the blame for the conflict on OSCE Minsk group which has been engaged in peaceful settlement of the conflict for almost 30 years.
