The Netherlands to find out why Kiev failed to close airspace in Boeing MH17 crash area

Amsterdam is going to find out why Ukraine did not close its airspace in the area of hostilities where later the Malaysian Boeing crashed, the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands said, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the Press Secretary of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Netherlands Brechtje van de Moosdijk, the circumstances of this fact are examined apart from the criminal investigation into the MH17 crash.

In June, The Hague initiated an investigation of the fact that Ukraine did not close its airspace over the area of hostilities in the east of the country despite the fact that air force was used there. According to lawyer Boudewijn van Eijck, attorney for Russian national Oleg Pulatov accused in this case, the investigation can take as long as half a year.
