The IMF’s financial assistance colonizes Ukraine for the price of “loose change”, said the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan on May 31 on the air of the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on Russia One channel.
Foreign state actors are gaining control over Ukraine with help from IMF, noted Kurginyan. The country “is colonized with help from the IMF for the price of loose change, which will be stolen later,” emphasized Kurginyan.
Ukraine signed a memorandum with the IMF, which stipulates that reforms started by Dr. Ulana Suprun, former Ukrainian Minister of Health [reforms aimed at commercializing a public, Soviet style healthcare system – editorial note] will continue, noted the political scientist.
It does not make sense to criticize the Minister of Health for her healthcare reform while signing agreements that continue these reforms de facto, noted the political scientist. “If it’s a crime, lock up your president. Impeach him, and lock him up! .. If this is a good deed, then stop saying that Suprun was the enemy of the people,” noted the political scientist.
The US never cares about other people’s interests, stressed Kurginyan. “The US is interested in nothing but its interests. Everywhere they come they collect their loot and smuggle it back home. For centuries, this has been a formula for the Anglo-Saxons,” said Kurginyan.
The IMF’s reform requirements are always murder for local economies, and the agreements signed are binding. “Have you signed? – You signed! Now you say: ‘Yes, we signed, but we are not going to fulfill it.’ They are not the kind of people who will accept this. The conversation there will be harsh,” said Kurginyan.
It should be mentioned that Ulana-Nadezhda Suprun acted as Ukrainian Minister of Health from 2016 to 2019. Suprun is a US citizen and was granted Ukrainian citizenship in 2015 from Pyotr Poroshenko, former Ukrainian President.
Suprun started the implementation of a healthcare reform based on contemporary Western healthcare system principles. Increased transparency in drug procurement was one of the declared goals. Almost a complete abandonment of the state-funded healthcare system was one of the reform’s key points.
