The Russian side recognizes the recent POW exchange between Kiev and Donbass as an appropriate step towards the implementation of the Paris summit decisions, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko said on April 16.
“We welcome the recent exchange as a step in the right direction towards the implementation of the Normandy Four decisions made at the Paris summit last December,” Rudenko said.
He also noted that the Russian side hopes that the meeting of the Minsk Contact Group will develop further agreements in this direction.
On April 16, an exchange of prisoners of war between the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kiev completed. Ten people detained by the Ukrainian side were exchanged for nine people from the Donetsk side.
