The USA is not going to interfere with the situation in the province of Idlib in Syria to provide military support to Turkey, the United States National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien said on March 11 in his address at the Heritage Foundation in Washington.
“That’s not something we are going to commit American troops to at this point,” he said.
On March 6, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that he does not mind if the USA military is present in the Syrian province of Idlib. He believes that the USA could send equipment to Idlib if no ceasefire agreement was in force.
The ceasefire regime in the Syrian province of Idlib began on March 6 according to an agreement that Russia and Turkey reached after bilateral talks in Moscow on March 5. Later, the Defense Minister of Turkey Hulusi Akar noted that the talks with Russia on Idlib were successful.
