Palestinian authorities are preparing a resolution for the UN Security Council condemning Trump’s proposed conflict settlement plan in the Middle East, Palestinian permanent representative to the UN Riyad Mansour said on February 5, RIA Novosti reported.
The draft resolution, developed with the participation of Palestine and Tunisia, was distributed among the delegations of the security Council member countries on Tuesday. Palestine will present the final version of the document to the UN Security Council next week.
Mansour predicted that the Palestinian version of the resolution would be vetoed. Nevertheless, the Palestinian authorities will still introduce their resolution with “stern wording” for consideration, agreeing on a position with as many countries as possible. Thus, the Palestinian authorities want to show the general opinion of the international community and the UN Secretary-General on the Palestinian-Israeli issue.
