China abolishes duties on goods used to fight against coronavirus

Duties, VAT and consumer tax on imported products used to fight the 2019-nCoV virus have been temporarily abolished by the Chinese authorities. This was reported on the Chinese Financial Ministry official website on February 2.

The list of these products includes protective masks, chemical products, disinfectants, special suits, ambulances vehicles, as well as special vehicles for sanitary epidemiological stations.

It is also reported that imported means of combating the new coronavirus have already been donated by the China Red Cross Federation, the All-China Women’s Federation, the China Disabled People’s Federation, the China Charity Federation, the China Primary Medical Care Foundation, the China Qingling Song Foundation and the China Cancer Foundation.

The new preferential import tax policy was introduced from January 1 to March 31 2020.
